Tennessee Craft Midstate members are invited to apply for The Art of Craft, an annual juried exhibit that will take place from August 16 to September 27, 2019 (ending on the first day of the Tennessee Craft Fall Fair).  The following two jurors were jointly chosen by CAC and Tennessee Craft Midstate.  Neither have any affiliation with either institution.
  •  Sophie Glenn  holds a BFA in Sculpture from the State University of New York at Purchase and an MFA from San Diego State University where she studied Furniture Design and Woodworking.  In 2018 she received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Tennessee Arts Commission and she is currently an artist in residence at the Appalachian Center for Craft.
  • Stephanie Wilhelm holds a BFA from Elizabethtown College and an MFA in ceramics from the University of Florida.  In 2017, she received the NCECA Graduate Student Fellowship for her research on Bon Fresco combined with ceramics in Italy.  She is currently finishing up an Artist in Residence position at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, then she will be heading to a new residency at Red Lodge Clay Center.

Submitted artwork must meet the following requirements:
  • Entrant must be a current, active, member of Tennessee Craft Midstate. Non-members will be provided a link to join Tennessee Craft Midstate at the end of the submission process.
  • A $10 application fee will be collected during the submission process. There are no additional entry fees related to this show.

If chosen for this exhibition, artists will be invited to exhibit 6-10 works depending on size (artwork not previously shown in CAC gallery).

The opening reception for The Art of Craft Exhibit will be held on August 16th, 2019. CAC is open Monday - Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm throughout the year.
