Midstate Micro-Grant for Craft Content
The application window is now open, so artists are encouraged to apply immediately. To be selected on a rolling basis until all 10 grants have been awarded.
In an attempt to create some relief for artists experiencing economic hardship due to COVID-19, we are offering 10 different stipends worth $100 each for chosen artists to create a video of structured content to be featured on the TN Craft Midstate website and/or social media. These videos are expected to range from 15 to 20 minutes in length.

Tennessee Craft Midstate will use the submitted content on our website, social media, newsletter, and other communications. We reserve the right to edit the video as we see necessary to suit our needs. We are also okay with you using the content on your own website/social media.
Who is eligible:

The content can consist of:
- An artist talk
- A demonstration and/or instructional video.
- This can be a demonstration specific to your art form, but it should be interesting/accessible to any artist.
- A tour of your studio that gives viewers a glimpse into your studio practice
What this is not:
- A sales pitch, although you can include your website/social media info at the end.

Who is eligible:
- Any current Tennessee Craft Midstate member who is a professional or semi-professional artist making a significant portion of their income from their art practice.
- Artists are expected to have at least moderate experience in their art form.

- Do you have experience digitally documenting your art practice or processes? If so, tell us about it or provide us with a link to an example.
- Do you have the technology on hand to create quality video?
- It is fine if you are just using a smartphone, but we would expect you to provide good lighting and sound levels. We are also happy to provide some basic tips to help you get the best quality possible.
- Provide us with an overview of the content you would like to submit. Also tell us why you think our Midstate community would be interested in this content.
