The Art of Craft
TN Craft Midstate is proud of our long-standing partnership with the Metro Parks Centennial Art Center (CAC) Gallery, located in Nashville’s Centennial Park. Our annual exhibit, The Art of Craft, will take place August 4 – September 21, 2023. This will be an invitational exhibit of TN Craft Midstate members. Selected artists will be invited to exhibit between 6 and 10 works (depending on size) that have not been previously shown in the CAC gallery.

3rd Annual Brentwood Library Exhibit
John P. Holt Brentwood Library
8109 Concord Rd, Brentwood, TN 37027 TN Craft Midstate members are invited to apply for an exhibition to be held during the month of July 2023 at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library in Brentwood, TN. The exhibit aims to include 1-3 TN Craft Midstate artists to show work in four large, locked display cases each measuring 32" x 80" x 11". The show will be curated, though not juried, with the artists chosen from the sample images they provide in their submission. If chosen, the artist(s) will be invited to show newer work too, but it should still be consistent with the quality and general style shown in their application images. TN Craft Midstate welcomes a plurality of subjects and inspiration, though selected works must contain material appropriate for the John P. Holt Brentwood Library.
To apply, please send 5 to 8 sample images of your work - or a link to the images online - and include the date, medium, and dimensions for each piece. Jurors for IDENTITY CRISISNuveen Barwari has been featured in New American Painting, Yahoo Nachrichten Deutschland, Rudaw, Gazete Duvar, Botan Times, and Caravel Magazine. Exhibitions include Kurdistan’s first Fashion Week (2018), University of Michigan (2019), Sugar Gallery (2019), Zg Gallery Chicago (2020), 21c Museum Hotel Nashville (2021), NGBK Gallery Berlin (2021) and Duhok Gallery (2021) Duhok, Kurdistan.
Clarence Edward is a gallerist native to Nashville. His curatorial career began at the University of Memphis. He has since curated exhibitions, assisted galleries, and organized art fairs in Memphis, Atlanta, and New York City. In 2021, Edward returned to Nashville to open Cë Gallery and its extension, cëcret by Cë Gallery, which houses work by local visual artists. Clarence is a committed advocate and resource for artists. Claudia Overstreet received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in ceramic art from Watkins College of Art, Design & Film in Nashville. She is a working artist, making and selling art, teaching clay slab-building workshops, and dabbling in fiber art. She has expanded her creative base (literally) with her spouse, a painter and writer, and her kiddo who collects too many animal and dinosaur figurines to count. |

Emerging Makers Tent
The Emerging Makers Tent occurs every Tennessee Craft fair as an exclusive opportunity for member artists interested in taking their craft business to the next level. In the Emerging Makers Tent, groups of artists from each chapter work together in a supportive environment to gain practical experience selling their artwork. This experience is designed to help emerging makers take the next step toward exhibiting as independent artists on the main tent circle at Tennessee Craft fairs.

Tennessee Craft FairThe Tennessee Craft Fair is a biannual event held in the heart of Nashville on the beautiful Parthenon lawn of Centennial Park. Here, art collectors can shop one-of-a-kind, finely crafted artwork directly from juried, award-winning artists. A unique feature of Tennessee Craft Fairs requires artists to be on-site. The Spring Fair is held in May; the Fall Fair in October.
